Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew N. Ferguson has directed the formation of a dedicated Healthcare Task Force to centralize enforcement and policy efforts across the agency. The initiative brings together the FTC’s Bureaus of Competition, Consumer Protection, and Economics, along with the Office of Policy Planning and the Office of Technology, to implement a coordinated regulatory strategy.
The task force will oversee targeted enforcement actions, align investigative priorities across divisions, and identify opportunities for legal advocacy, including amicus filings and statements of interest. It will also monitor emerging risks and define new enforcement priorities within the healthcare sector, reflecting a structured approach to competition and consumer protection oversight. The task force is expected to enhance interagency coordination, with plans to engage the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Justice.
