Sophos, a leading provider of managed security services, has announced its definitive agreement to acquire Secureworks, a prominent developer of the TaegisTM platform, which specializes in open managed detection and response (MDR) and extended detection and response (XDR) solutions. This acquisition aims to integrate Secureworks’ extensive security operations expertise and over 20 years of threat intelligence with Sophos’ existing capabilities. The collaboration is expected to result in enhanced MDR and XDR solutions that will deliver improved detection, investigation, and response to cyber threats for organizations of all sizes worldwide.
The integration will not only enhance the Taegis platform but also expand Sophos’ security portfolio by incorporating Secureworks’ advanced technologies, including identity detection and response (ITDR), next-generation security information and event management (SIEM), and operational technology (OT) security. Joe Levy, CEO of Sophos, emphasized that this partnership will strengthen their market position and align with their mission to combat cybercrime through innovative solutions.
