Mary O’Carroll Joins Goodwin as Chief Operating Officer

Mary O'Carroll has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer of Goodwin, a global law firm. She will be based in the firm's Silicon Valley office. O'Carroll will be responsible for the Global Operations team at Goodwin, which consists of more than 1,000 business professionals worldwide. He will report to Managing Partner Mark Bettencourt. Her duties will encompass the development and implementation of operational strategies, controls, and procedures that are consistent with the organization's overarching objectives. O’Carroll will also collaborate with the firm’s Chief Officers across various functions, including finance, client development, innovation and information technology, and more to enhance Goodwin’s ability to deliver strategic advice and integrated solutions to its clients.

O’Carroll brings extensive experience to Goodwin, having most recently served as Chief Community Officer at Ironclad, where she focused on driving strategic direction and operational excellence. Before that, she served as the Director of Legal Operations, Technology, and Strategy at Google for 13 years. During her tenure, she co-founded the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC) and established Google's Legal Operations function. Harvard Law School case studies have acknowledged her innovative work at Google, CLOC, and Ironclad. O’Carroll’s appointment is seen as a strategic move by Goodwin to further strengthen its operational capabilities and maintain its position as a leading law firm in dynamic industries.
