Blackstone Invests in AirTrunk

Blackstone, in conjunction with CPP Investments, has reached a definitive agreement to acquire AirTrunk, a leading data center platform in the Asia Pacific region, for an implied enterprise value exceeding A$24 billion. This acquisition marks Blackstone’s largest investment in the Asia Pacific region and is pending approval from the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board. AirTrunk operates major data center facilities across Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Singapore, with over 800MW of committed capacity and land for future expansion totaling more than 1GW.

Jon Gray, President and Chief Operating Officer of Blackstone highlighted the strategic significance of this investment in advancing Blackstone’s position as a top digital infrastructure investor. Blackstone’s portfolio, which includes over US$55 billion in data centers and a US$70 billion development pipeline, will be significantly bolstered by AirTrunk. This acquisition aligns with the growing global demand for digital infrastructure driven by the AI revolution and digitalization trends. AirTrunk’s CEO, Robin Khuda, anticipates that Blackstone’s capital and expertise will accelerate AirTrunk’s growth and support the broader energy transition in the region.
